G4 Challenge Land Rovers

In 2003 the Defender 110 was the main vehicle used by the competitors in South Africa. In 2006 they will be used as support vehicles for the G4 Challenge. My adventures may not be as challenging as the G4 Challenge, but my Support Vehicle has a similar role in that it carries essential supplies, communication equipment and carries a photographer.

The G4 Challenge Range Rovers are the same in that they were for the competitors in 2003 and as support vehicles in 2006. They are meant to be carrying film crews and medical personnel. Again similar to my support vehicle even though I only take stills not film, I am a qualified First Aider that does voluntary work with St. John Ambulance. The G4 Challenge Range Rovers also have V8 engines like my Support Vehicle.

I like the little piece of chequer plate (on the Defender 110) to prevent you slipping when using the bumper to climb onto the bonnet. As I don’t have a ladder, I climb onto the bonnet to access my roof rack.

The G4 Land Rovers (Range Rover, Discovery and Freelander) below were used in the 2003 G4 Challenge. Nice bolt on accessories, but I prefer yellow to Tangiers Orange.
